Highland Cross is a unique coast to coast challenge taking place this year on 21st June 2008. An annual duathlon taking participants from Morvich to Kintail across some fantastic scenery. This 20 mile run and 30 mile cycle is for a mix of charities which historically have included Highland Hospice & Maggie's Cancer Caring Centre and this year includes Children 1st & Shopmobility. This blog is the story of the team "Are we nearly there yet Mum?", their training, their fundraising & their journey.
Last year Norna Hall celebrated the arrival of her bus pass by completing the Highland Cross as a warm up to cycling to the 4 compass points of the British mainland (a journey of about 1300 miles), supporting both MacMillan Cancer Care and the nominated Highland cross charities. This year she has put together a family team to join her for just one more shot at this challenge... (more about Norna)
Sara Christie is her daughter who after years of trying to be sensible gave in last year to the inevitable genetic insanity and joined her Mother for the first time on this crazy event... somehow she has been talked into coming back for more... (more about Sara)
Martin Christie is doing his first Highland Cross, as penance for not joining last year's team. He is pretty swift on a bicycle and has been drafted in to the family reunion to keep the average time up! .. (more about Martin)
Please support the team by clicking on the 'Just Giving' link below and donating as much as you can. Track our fundraising progress here on this blog
